My sense to write.

Capture my freedom,
Turn my voice off.
Cut the pen from my hand,
Take the music within my head.

But-
Another censored sin.

Please,
Oh sure-and-stubborn teacher,
stop telling me
her death deserves no mourning.
Stop saying
It was a choice, yes or no
and it's all her fault.
It isn't that simple.
Don't look me in the eyes--
My eyes, that have seen my own blood
more times than I can count; eyes
that have closed tight as a knife was held
to my throat by my own hand;
eyes that read the labels on those bottles
wondering how many pills
would stop my lungs--
don't look me in the eyes and tell me
it's simply yes or no.

Stuttering against quiet delusions,
She bit a vintage tongue.

just to engrave the taste of rose thorn monsters
between the cracks of my glass skin."
Licking dry lips,
She asked to taste them.
